Lee County Industries Develop Hands-on Training
Lee County EDG has partnered with Southeastern Community College (SCC) and local industry to develop a Mechanical Troubleshooting module through the non-credit division of SCC's Industrial Technology Center in Keokuk.

The program is being designed to help employees with root cause analysis and the process of effectively troubleshooting.

We are making a concerted effort to incorporate as much hands-on learning into this class to make it a better learning experience for the participants. SCC/CBIZ Industrial Maintenance Instructor Dave Rector put together a list of materials we are seeking to help make this module a success.
The curriculum was developed with the assistance of Roquette America, Silgan Containers, Independent Can Company, Iowa Fertilizer Company, and Pinnacle Foods.

Silgan Containers in Fort Madison, pictured above, and Decker Manufacturing in Keokuk, pictured to the right, have already contributed to the course.

"Silgan Containers is happy to join SCC and Lee County EDG in their effort, to insure the successful future of area manufacturing" stated Brad Hagmeier with Silgan Containers. "Donating a few parts, or spare equipment, seems a small price to pay in return for a skilled workforce."

These donations will help the students work on parts and equipment that they will see when they get into the workforce.
