SCC Receives $1 Million Grant for Industrial Tech Building in Keokuk
August 14, 2015 - Funds totaling $1,000,308, will be used for construction on a new industrial maintenance technology facility on their Keokuk campus.

The college is eager to start construction on this project.  "We will take care of the requirements for the EDA and then develop our bid packages so they can go to bid," SCC President Dr. Ash said. "They go to the board, then we will have a period of time for the bids to be available, then get those bids in, review and then choose the most qualified bid. The board will approve that and then the contractor will take over. That will take some time."

Ash said the grant award letters should be delivered next week, but the ball is now rolling for the Keokuk building.

This center will allow instructors to teach everything from foundational skills to the latest technology in the field. It will allow SCC to expand industrial training programs including focused, short-term training, specialized certificate training and full-scale diploma and degree programs to meet the demands of area industries.
